Final assignment! We were told to do a portrait (limited colors of black and white with red for emphasis). We had a list to choose from; I chose Alfred Hitchcock. After the initial critique, I went back and pushed the birds back with grays and altered the shape of the egg and yolk. This version looks much more resolved.

For this assignment, we had to make a magazine spread based on any article of our choosing. I chose an article based on the over-estimation of the rat population in NYC. The article is linked below.
I went for a simple, clean design.

Sketches of assignment! I like the idea of the wombat being more involved but still showing scale. I am still undecided if I should do a digital painting or a simple black and white dry-brush.

"Winifred Wombat walked with wild wobbly warthogs."
I want to do something comical that emphasizes the scale of the wombat versus the warthogs, but I would also do something that had to do with the massive amount of warthogs versus the singular wombat.

Ashli brought up the idea of a ton of baby warthogs following a wombat leader. That sounds pretty rad and adorable!

In Illustration 3, our first assignment was to create an opera poster based on one of three famous operas. I selected Madama Butterfly. Below are some thumbnails from the project.
